Creating More Efficient Teams

Effective, enthusiastic, creative work teams do not just happen. Even when trying to “hand pick” work teams for increased productivity, they do not always run smoothly. Teams or work groups go through certain stages as the members get to know each other better. Conflicts emerge and individual agendas can sometimes stall the accomplishment of team goals.

When Pivot Point Leadership works with a team, each member will individually receive feedback regarding their work and communication styles and how that impacts their effectiveness as a team member. The team will also learn more about their communication and work styles as a group and who that may influence other work teams in the organization. The team will also meet together to learn and experience:

  1. How to better express themselves so that discussion in increased rather than shut down
  2. How to listen and provide feedback that will encourage new ideas and solutions
  3. How to turn conflict into productive interaction
  4. How to become stronger as a team when there are setbacks
  5. How the basics of trust and forgiveness (or “letting go”) can move a team along into future tasks and goal setting without past interactions interfering with productivity.

This is accomplished through the taking of assessments, having an individual feedback meeting, and a series of team meetings.
